Oh, where to start... I never used to understand how people could be "so busy". You know, they never have time for friends or doing anything fun? Impossible! There is ALWAYS enough time! Ha!! Ha!! Ha!!
AB is doing great in his new school. He had a field day last week and had a blast!
His last day is tomorrow and I have no idea what to do with a 10 year old all summer long. We will try to visit my family for a week or so. And maybe the in-laws. Of course, we don't have an endless supply of money so we will see if it starts growing on trees. Oh, and he passed 4th grade! Fifth grade, here we come! AB has been playing basketball but some of the kids are really rough and like to throw him to the ground. Now he doesn't want to play anymore. Of course, I've never seen this happen. It happened the one night our neighbor took all the boys to practice. She didn't see anything and we've never noticed them being mean. We'll see...still not sure if he should quit or not. I always thought that once you signed up for something that you finished it. What do you think? Of course, if he's getting beat up I would definitely talk to the coach and take care of the situation.
I survived my physiology class. Just barely. It was a rough semester and I am so glad that it's over. I took the admissions test for the nursing program. It has 3 parts and I passed 2 of them. Dang! I missed the anatomy and physiology section by 1 question. So, now I have to retake it. I can only take it twice in a year so if I don't pass this time I'm screwed. No pressure...huh? Retaking it on June 4th. I have lots of studying to do between now and then. Wish me luck!
My husband's (H) grandmother passed away weekend before last (Saturday, May 15) . She was in Kentucky with his parents so he took a last minute trip to go visit her. She was very sick and we knew her life was coming to an end. She actually passed away while he was on the plane to see her. Very sad. He wanted to say goodbye but didn't get the chance. The funeral was on Monday in New Jersey. I flew into NYC/JFK with the kids, rented a car, and drove into NJ to meet the family. It was kinda crazy but we made it! We spent 2 nights there and really enjoyed seeing family. Hated the circumstances of course. For many, it was the first time they have seen AB and BB. It was really nice seeing how everyone embraced them....especially AB. Fortunately my mother flew in on May 13 to help while H was out of town. We left her here by herself while we went to the funeral. She took care of the house/dogs. She spent a week and a half with us and it was so nice to have her here. H's parents and sister are coming this weekend. It will be nice to see them again too.
BB is doing great. She will be 9 months old tomorrow! Holy cow!
She spent 2 days with a low grade fever and just not feeling well. Wanna see how she looks when she isn't feeling well?
After her fever broke she broke out in a rash (Roseola, I presume) and after 2 days was completely back to normal. We took her to the doctor and she thinks it's just teething. She is still not eating solids. Baby food is an absolute NO GO. She loves her puffs though. Can a human survive on Gerber puffs alone? We give her everything we eat now. She will take a few bites and then the lips clamp down and she starts shaking her head no. Aye aye aye!! We are going to see the Occupational Therapist in a few weeks to work on it. Can you believe we have to wait 6 weeks for an appointment? And there is only 1 pediatric OT in the area in our insurance network. Don't even get me started. Anyway...she is crawling all over the place! She can go from her belly to a sitting position too. She has started to pull up but not on a regular basis. I'm not rushing all of this movement!! She talks and sings all of the time. Such a joy! The not so joyous part? Still not sleeping more than 5 hours at a time. She spits her pacifier out and cries for it at least 5 times a night. I try to let her soothe herself back to sleep but that's a huge fail. She is not a fan of sleeping at all! And when she wakes herself up, she is wide awake ready to play. When we lay her back in her arms she arches her back because she knows it's nap time and she wants no part of it. I have to hold her down, squirming and squealing, to get her to take a nap. She was actually up every 2 hours last night. Wow...just wow. The doctor said that once we get more food in her that she should sleep longer...I think I already told you that. Needless to say, I am just beyond exhausted.
I had all of these grand ideas for a blog post...so much I wanted to tell you. But now I can't remember any of them. I should keep a notebook by my bed...the ideas come to me in the middle of the night!
And now...I give you random cuteness!
The cowardly Rottweiler finally let me take her photo! She is scared of the little pocket cameras but not my gigantic Nikon...go figure.
Clean baby!!
You talkin to me?!

I LOVE READING YOUR POSTS as I live vicariously through you - "if mine had stayed in longer they'd be the same age".
Connor also started crawling recently (K's been at it for months) - it is very cute (if busy) now with TWO mobile kids.
BB's like Connor with the food - when he's done he purses those lips and shakes his head NO NO NO! and if you try to feed him more, he FREAKS OUT. "Waaaahhhhh, I said NO!" :)
Back to your post - before kids I was one of those "if you start something you will finish it" people and I'm still 80% there but... I have a suspicion I'll be a bit more lenient depending on the situation with my own kids.
I'd say observe it closely for a bit but no point in putting him through agony, is it? He looks so happy, Leah. He's probably more and more secure every day.
And you ROCK - I'm amazed at you moms who have the time to parent and study all at the same time!
What about a night light in her cot and a gazillion dummies (pacifiers) so she can find at least one by herself? You've GOT to get some more sleep.
Does she still have a lot of bottles?
Ours has 4 during the day and one at night.
I can't figure out how to stop the bottles. Also scared of going back to the bad old days of really no sleep.
Anyway, best I get to some work - but SO nice to hear from you!
P.S. Oh my word, sorry, I didn't realise how long that was.
See how I missed you?
great to see an update, especially with pics :)
Sounds like ya'll are so busy, I'm worn out just from reading!
I agree with Marcia, watch and see what happens w/the basketball.
Good luck on the food issues. Knock on wood, we're OK there so far. Sleep I can relate though, Emery is not a fan of sleep (too bad I am). Ugh!
